Incredibly proud to share our Chief Design Officer Lynn Bui's SXSW Innovation Awards Finalist interview! ?? Lynn's personal snowboarding accident - where another rider's board sliced through her leg causing massive bleeding - highlighted a critical question: what happens when you're in the backcountry with no cell service or nearby help? This experience shaped our vision for GOES Health. Lynn and the team have built risk forecasting that warns you about health risks before they happen and offline visual guides that walk you through emergencies when they do. From hikers to trail runners to climbers, we're helping people both prevent and respond to outdoor health emergencies - even with no cell service. Join us at the SXSW Innovation Awards ceremony on Monday, March 10th! Making the journey from Seattle, Lynn is showcasing her groundbreaking innovation in the Interface Design category. https://goes.health SXSW: What does GOES Health do? BUI: GOES is a digital first aid resource that helps people prevent and?manage common injuries and illnesses in the outdoors or any situation where resources to medical care may be limited. People can make informed decisions on whether they need to seek further medical attention based on medical best practices. SXSW: Who is your target audience? BUI: GOES is for outdoor enthusiasts - hikers, trail runners, climbers, and everyone in between. You can plan your trips with our weather forecasting tools and location-based health risks and use offline visual guides as a vital resource during emergency situations.?The medical resources are also helpful for people impacted by natural disasters who are exposed to the elements and are experiencing delayed or limited access to medical care.? SXSW: What inspired GOES Health? BUI: It started with a snakebite. After saving a hiker from a venomous snakebite, Dr. Grant Lipman, an emergency physician trained in wilderness medicine, founded GOES to address “How might we make wilderness medicine more accessible to everyone?” The inspiration for the latest version of GOES came from a snowboarding accident I had where another rider’s board sliced through my leg, causing massive bleeding. I was really lucky, first responders were nearby. But what would’ve happened if I was in the backcountry, with no cell service or help? Could I have made a tourniquet from scratch? In reflecting on my experience and hearing first responders’ stories, I realized it was important for GOES to equip people with the essential steps and information for critical life-threatening scenarios. CTO at GOES | Building AI and apps

Humbled and moved to share this CNBC article about how our GOES Health app is helping LA residents navigate the devastating wildfires. What started as a wilderness medicine app has become an essential tool for urban survival during climate disasters. Our team built GOES Health to help people in remote areas access critical health information. Never did I imagine I'd need it myself while flying home to LA last week, watching fires approach my neighborhood. The 800% spike in local usage shows how crucial accurate, hyperlocal emergency data has become. Whether you're a hiker in the Cascades or a family in LA, having reliable health and safety information can make all the difference. Read about my personal story: https://lnkd.in/gCZVucBc P.S. Stay safe, LA. We're here to help. ?? https://goes.health/

CEO @ GOES Health | World's first outdoor safety and digital first aid guide

Thank you everyone for making last week’s SF TECH WEEK by a16z such a spectacular success. It was incredibly exciting to have my mind expanded with the latest breakthroughs in AI and Climate Tech and to be moved by all of the passionate founders and creators. Learning about the multiple facets and inflection points of tech and society left me more inspired than tired.????? Here’s what I learned: ? The most viral AI use case coming out of Google Labs is an AI-powered dissertation on poop and fart (my 10-year-old son was not surprised)? Joshua Woodward, Kanav Garg, Denys Krasnikov, Pushmeet Kohli ? Chemonics is designing sustainable ground-up support for humanitarian efforts by using camels to disseminate medical supplies–not drones?Jamey Butcher, Winston Damarillo ? AI in Marketing: marketing and sales are collapsing into one, while the voice of human authenticity can’t be replicated or matched?Mariane Bekker, Liza Yu, Hana McTaggart, Sandhya Simhan, Edu (Ed) Giansante ? Functional Swag - Hoodie with a unique QR Code!? Thank you so much to the HSBC banking team for the panel on how to get your story right with amazing journalists. My faith in the media was rebooted and I was absolutely blown away by the generous and “off the record” glimpse into their lives.? These folks receive 75-120 pitches in their inbox per day!??Mark Calvey, Ari Levy, Michael Nu?ez, Lexy Siegel, Matt Kozar, Jim Marshall Special shout out and thank you to my fellow panelists and everyone who attended the world’s first panel for “AI in Outdoor Health and Climate Change.” I’m so happy to be ushering in the category of Outdoor Health with you, fellow pioneers!? As awesome as it was to have the Blue Angels buzzing the Fenwick office during our talk, not sure it was quite “on brand’. Jeff Banks, Jared Hanley, Tara O'Shea, Will Decker, Taimur Case, Sam Angus
