I'm excited to share that last month, I received the "Outstanding Business Manager Award" from Wilson Commons Students Activities for my work as Business Manager on the 2025 Class Council over the past 4 semesters! This award is given once annually to just one of over 275 business managers on campus. I'm immensely grateful that my peers have entrusted me with managing the funds that allow us to plan large monthly events open to the entire senior class and our senior week experience! Working with Andrew Zhou, Jennasea Licata, Matthew Tierney, Kate Hidalgo, Winston Francisco, Ryan Ko, and Arash Khavaran this year has truly been a highlight of my college career! #meliora

At a recent Experience Rochester event, Philadelphia-based University of Rochester alumni and community members gathered to learn about the incredible growth of the Goergen Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (GIDS-AI), an initiative launched in 2015 to drive interdisciplinary research, learning, and regional economic growth. Mujdat Cetin, director of GIDS-AI, professor of computer science, and professor of electrical and computer engineering, led a thought-provoking discussion on how GIDS-AI has transformed the landscape of #AI, both at the University and beyond. BIG NEWS FOR AI IN NEW YORK! Governor Kathy Hochul announced today that the University of Rochester will be the first integrated health system to join Empire AI, the New York State consortium dedicated to accelerating the development of artificial intelligence centered in public interest. Access to the computing resources that power AI systems is prohibitively expensive and difficult to obtain. These resources are increasingly concentrated in the hands of large technology companies and other global competitors. As a result, researchers, public interest organizations, and small companies are being left behind, which has enormous implications for AI safety and society at large. By increasing collaboration between New York State’s world-class research institutions, Empire AI is bridging the gap, creating efficiencies not achievable by any single university, empowering and attracting top-notch faculty, expanding educational opportunities for students, and giving rise to a wave of responsible innovation that will significantly strengthen our state’s economy and our national security.
