Did you catch Copia in the Food Policy Debrief? Check out the details on our newest feature below ?? ??
Big News in Food Recovery!? ?? In our January edition of the Food Policy Debrief we spotlighted Copia—the tech-driven surplus recovery service—who recently launched a game-changing feature! ???? Here's the scoop: While Copia typically partners with third-party delivery services for donation pickups, its new feature connects local nonprofits and food recovery organizations (FROs) directly with donating businesses—AND compensates them for their efforts! ?? That means nonprofits get the resources they need to continue their vital work, and businesses get to maintain their cherished community ties while meeting sustainability goals. ???? Why this matters: ?? Businesses now have an even smoother way to give back. ?? Nonprofits get essential financial and logistical support to keep feeding those in need. ?? It’s a win-win for communities and sustainability. Kimberly Trouville Smith, Copia’s CEO, sums it up perfectly: “...transportation is often the most resource-constrained aspect of a nonprofit’s operations. That’s why we’re putting our money where our mouths are by providing a revenue share to our FRO and nonprofit partners… This is just the beginning. We’re working on additional tools and resources to better support our nonprofit partners and business donors and excited to share more soon.” ?? Kudos to Copia for building a collaborative ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders in the food recovery process. Who else is excited to see innovation like this tackling food insecurity and waste?! ? ?? Read the latest Food Policy Debrief for more standout food stories and updates: https://lnkd.in/eGc34z9q ??
