LogiMAT-Messe was really worth it! So many great conversations & insights. The only regret I have is that I was not able to spend more time there. Some of my takeaways: ?? Automation in unstructured & semi-structured environments is still very slow (compared to human performance) ?? With the introduction of VDA5050 and the centralization of the "fleet brain" AMR & AGV competition will become even more fierce for commodity automation tasks. Replacing a more expensive European AGV with a Chinese one could be a drop-in replacement for a pilot... ?? Introduction of automation (and make it make sense) is still challenging in many places due the unstructured nature of human-centered processes ?? The next generation of perception systems has not really made it into industrial automation, yet ?? The interest in industrial automation is still accelerating. On the technological frontier, there remain many opportunities. To name a few: outdoor AMR's, faster autonomous machines in shared spaces, mixed transport & manipulation tasks Thanks Lennart Haller, Dino Dessi & Tim Stricker for organizing our presence at the fair! It will not be our last one. ??
