Congratulations Hawai'i!!! They are the first state to cover palliative care services for Medicaid beneficiaries through a State Plan Amendment. This benefit will transform the type of care patients living with serious illness can receive. These centers are recognized for their exceptional multidisciplinary approach to tackling cancer from all angles which includes providing palliative care alongside other treatments. We look forward to working together to improve the quality of life for people with a serious illness, such as cancer, and their family or caregivers.
