    If RevOps was the superhero, our villains are Silos. But… what if we invited them in? You see a small company doesn’t have silos. And if you’re not growing you can actually work on making current state very efficient without new problems popping up. It is the companies that grow quickly that deal with silo syndrome. Symptoms look like: * Lack of unified data source, teams using different figures and different definitions. * Lack of Collaboration, "not my job" mentality, internal competition * Lack of unified strategy, mismatched incentives, department goals trumping company objectives If you're feeling these things, in a way, we should be congratulating you. So, congrats? Your silos are thriving.

    Hot Take: The more HubSpot attempts to be Salesforce 2.0, the more they'll lose their competitive advantage of being easier to use. This will have them getting disrupted by an even smaller and easier to use CRM well before they ever catch up to Salesforce. They're in a great place right now, and they're growing a lot. I'm a big fan of this. Salesforce needs to have competition. Though Hubspot seems determined to become a serious enterprise level competitor, and I just don't see that happening in a way that doesn't make them redundant. I'm going to set aside that this is a bit like a moped attempting to catch up to a Porsche from a budget perspective (not an unfair comparison, Salesforce's market cap is almost 10x that of Hubspot). Consider the fact that Hubspot recently added the ability to add code-based automation to your instance. Now every criticism of how hard/expensive it is to manage code in Salesforce potentially applies to Hubspot. This is just one example, but a really really big one. I'm just waiting to hear about the first time someone has their Hubspot org hacked because some random javascript an Admin generated with AI opened up an attack surface no one was aware of. So if Hubspot makes themselves just as complicated and hard to manage as Salesforce, which they seem poised to do, what does the selling point become? Hubspot has a lot of advantages beyond its ease of use when compared to Salesforce, but that's kind of the big one. In which case, if simplicity and ease of implementation are your driving needs, you're probably going to look at other options. I'm open to being wrong about this, but I just keep cringing every time I see people go on about how Hubspot is "catching up". I don't think it's going to end the way some people seem to think it will. #Salesforce #Hubspot
