    Look at this lil trio. Matthew Volm is a bud. And I've been wanting to be friends with Sara McNamara for a while. Let's call this step one. Pumped to chat trends in tech stacks. I'm gonna talk about a few things I'm seeing 1. Consolidation being a huge driver (and bringing down tech costs) while at the same time operators looking to build more in house. We're tired of shelfware. 2. Marketing taking back... well marketing. The boomerang of going from marketing owning nurtures to sales owning automated outreach, and the pendulum swings back. 3. Using AI (and sometimes folks it's just automation) to get GTM teams focused on creating more connection with the customer 4. A focus on data integrity and the push from execs to have cleaner data (which has always been the case, but now ther's a willingness to pay, which I think comes from a fear/knowledge of how AI needs good data to be useful) 5.     Hey! We're RANTING about every VP of Sales who's first order of business is.....NEW SALES STAGES!!!! Believe it or not, as Revenue Operators we want the same things you want. We want to increase carry capacity, onboard reps quickly, make the process intuitive, have accurate forecasts. But it's impossible for us to build anything if every discount, term, and product bundle changes with every contract. We need some consistency and we don't want to slow down deals either. And of course not all sales leaders hate process. Look at Everett Berry at Clay who won't even say "Sales" and calls it "GTM Engineer." I've worked with him, he gets it. Makes sense since it's a company full of builders. So, Cheers to deal data being consistent on all objects, and being able to pull a list of all active customers and their next renewal date! TABLE STAKES.

    **(humble brag)** I think I might be among those who have built the most marketing attribution systems. My advice for getting started is always the same. I've been at it since 2011. If you're not tracking the core data points - no fancy dashboard or tool will help you. Start by implementing these 4 things: call out: focusing on salesforce architecture, but concepts same on any other CRM. ?? Lead Source & Detail - both original and most recent on all leads/contacts. ?? Ensure you've mapped lead source from lead to contact on conversion and onto opportunity at time of creation ?? Track campaign members (and statuses/responses) for all major campaign interactions ?? (speaking in salesforce language) track contact roles on all opportunities, that's how we can link campaign interactions to revenue Then.... address the cultural issue of teams needing to take "credit" for sourced deals. No amount of tools and reports we can implement for you that will fix that. AND, know that attribution reports are not more valuable than market knowledge and staying close to trends, your personna, the industry etc. No way to be ahead if you're obsessing with what's happened. Does anyone out there LOVE their marketing attribution methodology/tool/system? TELL ME, don't keep your secrets.
