GO15, the association of the Very Large Power Grid Operators, represents more than half of the world’s electricity demand. Created in 2004 after several blackouts had occurred, this unique organization is dedicated to high level exchanges. It offers industry leaders the opportunity to address major strategic and technical issues affecting the safety, the reliability and the sustainability of power systems. Convinced that the transmission grid and a resilient power system are key to energy transition, GO15 aims to favor bilateral and multilateral international collaboration to prepare a sustainable future.

GRID-INDIA is pleased to announce the release of the Short-Term National Resource Adequacy Plan (ST-NRAP) 2025-26, prepared by the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC) in compliance with the Electricity (Amendment) Rules, 2023, and the Indian Electricity Grid Code, 2023. This report provides a detailed assessment of generation resource adequacy in India for FY 2025-26, covering: ? Probabilistic demand forecasts & generation availability for 1000 scenarios ? Probable periods of?system stress, Reliability indices – Loss of Load Probability (LOLP) & Normalized Energy Not Served (NENS) ? Strategic interventions for improving power system reliability and flexibility ? All renewable energy implementing agencies and state utilities are now required by the Indian Ministry of Power Govt of India?to incorporate a minimum of 2h co-located energy storage systems (ESS) in future solar tenders.?This decision is aimed at limiting intermittency issues and providing critical support during peak demand periods. The International Energy Agency (IEA)?estimates in a February report that low-emission sources, renewable and nuclear, will be able to fully cover the 4% annual growth in global electricity consumption by 2027.??? A?massive?#poweroutage in Chile?on February 25, 2025, left the capital Santiago in darkness and disrupted operations in flights, subway operations and?major copper mines in the north. An estimated 8 million homes were affected, with power restored to about half by late evening. The blackout, caused by a transmission line failure in the north of the country, led the government to declare a state of emergency and impose a curfew from 10pm to 6am across several regions.
