Congrats to our member… Danielle Ward DNP NPD-BC, CNOR!!! ??????
What advice do you have for a newly certified NPD-BC? Today, join us in celebrating Danielle Ward DNP NPD-BC, CNOR, for achieving certification! Danielle is an NPD specialist at NYU Langone Health and is a doctoral-prepared nurse with 13 years of experience in perioperative nursing, education, and leadership. She shared: "I pursued certification because one of the primary responsibilities of an NPD is to advance the practice, and I felt it was my professional duty to obtain certification as a demonstration of my commitment to nursing professional development. Holding a certification has always been important to me, as it not only validates my expertise but also allows me to serve as a role model within my organization." If you are studying for the NPD-BC, check out ANPD's resources and courses. The Greater New York Nassau Suffolk Organization for Nursing Leadership is celebrating Black History Month with a tribute to black nurses from our President-Elect, Brenda Pryce - Pinder, MSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE: “In honor of Black History Month, I want to shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions of Black nurses throughout history. As a successful Black nurse, I stand on the shoulders of giants who paved the way for me and countless others in this noble profession. Like Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first Black registered nurse in the U.S., Black nurses have always been at the forefront of healthcare, battling inequities and advocating for patients. Nursing is more than a profession; it is a calling. It requires resilience, empathy, and a commitment to serve. I am proud to be part of a legacy that not only provides care but also uplifts communities and challenges systemic barriers. Let’s continue to inspire the next generation of Black nurses. Our journeys reflect hope, strength, and the power of perseverance. Together, we honor our past, celebrate our present, and embrace the future of nursing, ensuring that our voices and contributions will never be forgotten.“
