We’re thrilled to see our friend Andrew ?kerlund spreading the word about the upcoming Conner Strong Foundation 5K Fun Run! ????♂? Mental health awareness and suicide prevention are at the heart of our mission, and we’re proud to partner with organizations like the Conner Strong Foundation to support our community. Events like this not only raise critical awareness but also bring people together in solidarity for an important cause. #DontEndYourStory #MentalHealthMatters #CommunitySupport
Last year I had the privilege of representing the GMU Center for Community Mental Health at the Conner Strong Foundation’s 5K Fun Run with my dear friend and colleague. The Conner Strong Foundation’s core mission is to bring awareness to mental health issues and suicide prevention, especially among teens and young adults; and they partner with local organizations like the CCMH to provide mental health resources for our community. The 5K Fun Run is just around the corner again and their registration link is provided with the QR code in the photo below. This is a great early spring event for an excellent cause and a great opportunity to connect with other local mental health organizations. See you there! #DontEndYourStory

Expanding Access to Mental Health Care! The Center for Community Mental Health is thrilled to join both the Virginia Association for Free and Charitable Clinics and the National Association for Free and Charitable Clinics! These partnerships strengthen our commitment to ensuring that everyone—regardless of income or insurance status—has access to quality mental health care. Together, we are building a future where mental health support is not a privilege, but a right. We look forward to collaborating with like-minded organizations to expand services, share resources, and advocate for mental health accessibility at the local, state, and national levels. #MentalHealthForAll #CommunityWellness #AccessMatters #MentalHealth

Special thanks to Mike VanZetta for talking with CCMH about our services available to the entire community! And as always, for sharing his own life experience in the fight to decrease mental health stigma!
Robyn Mehlenbeck, Director of the George Mason University Center for Community Mental Health (CCMH) and clinical psychologist, discusses the incredible progress CCMH has made over the past year. With a dual mission of training the next generation of behavioral health providers and delivering accessible, affordable mental health services, CCMH is making a profound impact. From a 27% increase in their Spanish emotional support line usage to providing over 2,500 therapy sessions on a sliding scale, this center is truly transforming lives while addressing community needs. Learn more about their innovative programs, including free parent webinars, veteran-focused services, and the importance of addressing social media's effects on mental health. It’s GIVING TUESDAY - please consider donating to the Center for Community Mental Health! Philanthropic support is critical to helping our Center meet its mission of serving our community. The generous donations we received last year helped us provide free/low-cost services to 143 clients in the Northern Virginia area! Your donations truly matter and have a real lasting impact in our community. There are two funds you can choose from to support: 1) Our general fund provides critical support for individual clients at our Center who otherwise may not have been able to afford services. 2) The Jen DiMauro Memorial Fund helps provide FREE therapy and assessment services to veterans and their direct dependents. Whichever fund you choose, we thank you for your continued support on this Giving Tuesday! TO GIVE: https://bit.ly/GMUAGIFT
