We are excited to highlight the grand opening of a project by The Studio at GMK Interiors: Ascend Studios in Columbia, SC! Quick project backstory - The Studio at GMK Interiors was brought onboard March 2023, to provide interior design services for a new salon space located within Cardinal Crossings, at 4701 Forest Drive in Columbia, SC. The project entailed single-phase interior design (in coordination with a third-party architect) for the 3,800-square-foot commercially leased space, including the lobby, corridors, restrooms, break area, and salon suites. Project scope included the overall design concept, furniture suggestions and layouts, along with flooring, paint/wall coverings, decorative hardwired lighting, art lights, ceilings, door/cabinet hardware, millwork designs, etc.). Specialized spa equipment such as styling chairs and shampoo/dryer stations were also part of the scope. Earlier this month, GMK was on hand for the official Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the new USC Sumter Softball Facility. Under a contract with the University of South Carolina, GMK provide architectural design services for the modifications and upgrades for this collegiate softball facility located on the USC Sumter campus. The project consisted of construction of the new softball field, including dugout facilities and a restroom building along with related fencing, turf, clay, backstop, netting and athletic equipment. Furthermore, the designs were developed to be flexible enough for later modifications (such as the addition of a second story to the restroom facilities). We are very proud to have been a part of this effort that has long been on USC Sumter's "wish list" and will further enhance the student experience at the school. This August, GMK Interiors and GMK Associates had a blast "going back to school" by shopping for school supplies. We were thrilled to support the Columbia IIDA chapter’s school supply drive for the incredible non-profit, SisterCare. The GMK team is making good progress at the new Highway 56 Recreational Complex located in Clinton, SC.
