Last month, Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming, a member of The Alliance, hosted us to see their beautiful farm and chat about systems change in food. It is amazing to see how so much of the food supply chain is represented in one spot.? ? The Alliance got to know Glynwood through their Food Sovereignty Fund which has been contracting small-scale farmers from historically marginalized backgrounds to supply fresh, nutrient-dense, culturally significant food to frontline food access programs since 2020. Glynwood also operates a host of other programs that are transformative the food system such as CSA is a SNAP, their work on supporting locally grown grains and staples, and so much more.? ? We're #hiring : Glynwood is hiring a Livestock Farm Hand! This is a seasonal, with potential to become year-round, hands-on position to assist the Livestock team with daily chores related to pasture management, fencing, and animal care. On a daily basis, the Livestock Farm Hand takes direction from the Farm Director, Livestock Operation and Farm Outreach, and the Assistant Livestock Manager, and works with others on all aspects of Glynwood’s livestock operation. On Monday, Glynwood's Farm Director of Livestock Operation and Farm Outreach, Nicole Scott, is speaking at the inaugural RegenerativeNYC conference! RegenerativeNYC will bring together startups, industry leaders, investors, farmers, and students to establish a rich community to engage with the latest developments in regenerative agriculture. The conference, held in partnership with New York University, will aim to foster a community for regenerative agriculture in the financial capital of the world.
