The SAGE board knows how to have fun when they gather via Zoom every other month. During the roll call for today's meeting, board members were each instructed to share an adjective, verb, body part, etc. And from that, we plugged the words into the first-ever SAGE board MadLib!! Words selected by board members are in CAPS (other than SAGE, because, well, our name is in all caps anyway!).
I am THRILLED to serve on the SAGE board.
SAGE is out there every day helping senior HAMSTERS and those around them live BEAUTIFUL, BRILLIANT, FILTHY lives.?
Of course, our work is not without its frustrations and challenges. In fact, if I were to pick a song that best describes the bumps and detours we must sometimes take, I would pick LANDSLIDE or LIVING ON A PRAYER.?
When I first told my colleagues I was going to serve on the SAGE board, they said GOSH (in Napolean Dynamite fashion) !!!”
But now, when they walk by my desk during a board meeting and see how PASSIONATE we all are, they RUN and nod their ELBOW and say, “I’ll have what they’re having!”
I think my favorite memory from my term as a SAGE board member would have to be when BRAD SMITH read a few pages from THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR and shared lessons we can incorporate into SAGE, while SHIRAH KASONGO CAHILL translated the book into interpretive PICKLE BALL.
In closing, I just have to say that SPICY minds serve on the SAGE board!
