Launched during the UNFCCC UN COP 27 in Egypt, our #Climate #Ambassadors #Literacy #Program (CALP) has now completed its third batch of project held in Delta and Ebonyi States of Nigeria reaching 10, 000 students across 10 schools. Our product - the #Climate #Info #Box learning resource created for primary schools in #Africa has now reached 15 schools library. Through the Green clubs we created in these schools, designated teachers within the schools continue to teach climate change in the schools once a week using the climate info box, thereby promoting the sustainability of the projects impact even after the project is over. The Climate info box learning resource is a fully equipped box containing several equipment which aid the easy comprehension of climate change science such as materials for checking the temperature of the earth, C02 content, practical handbook, textbooks, a teachers guide and many other helpful materials. Kudos to the project team and volunteers for a successful but very intensive project ???????? The Climate Ambassadors Literacy Program is a program of our non profit - Glow Initiative for Economic Empowerment with funding support from Access Bank Plc. Their support enabled us to hold the second and third batches of the #CALP project, assisted the production of the #ClimateInfoBox learning resource and empowered our team to hold the project across two Nigerian states.

Happy to share that we have concluded our #Act #for #Forest program which advocates for the protection of nature and promotes the culture of afforestation. ??Powered by Access Bank Plc, this project planted trees in Ebedei town in Ukwuani LGA of Dekta state, a community dealing with impacts of oil spillage. ??Trained 2000 secondary school students as afforestation champions ??reached 1000 community members through the door to door campaign! Congratulations to newly trained solar skilled youths. The Access Bank Plc Solar Skills Empowerment Training Program just concluded its 7th batch. The Solar Skills Empowerment Program provides specialized training in solar system design and installation to empower young Nigerians equipping them with skills for the energy transition. This batch trained 50 youths in Asaba, Delta State as solar installers, maintenance, repair technicians and Solar Entrepreneurs. #SolarForSchools We are happy to present the 8th batch of our #Solar #For #School #Community #Project where we have installed solar electricity for offgrid school - Cave City School at Ogbunike community, Anambra State. ??57% of secondary schools in Nigeria do not have access to electricity. This poor energy access is more prevalent in rural areas, where up to 80% of secondary schools do not have access to electricity. ??This lack of electricity access has contributed to a significant gap in the quality of education provided to students, particularly in the area of ICT education. ??The Solar for Schools Community Project is working to power schools in Offgrid rural areas to enable the students study and practice computer thereby empowering them with internet and digital skills offering them a chance to compete in the fairly in the real world. ??This project has provided electricity for 12, 200 students and powered 202 computers across eight schools within five Nigerian states.
