Following the launch of the United Nations One Map initiative at the Conference and Plenary Meeting of the UN Geospatial Network in August, Partners of the One Map initiative advanced their mission by hosting the One Map Partners Lab at the United Nations COP29 Azerbaijan. We were hosted at the Digital Innovation Pavilion to discuss the localisation of climate action. The Unsung Heroes of Transformative Impact Summit (Part 1) It takes a village. Thankfully, we have one. I'm still receiving praise and congratulations for the Transformative Impact Summit and our Family Office and Impact Investor events last month in New York City. Of course, our speakers, panelists, and keynotes were the stars of the show, and emceeing, people got to hear from me quite a bit. But as with any big production, there are so many working behind the scenes whose work is foundational, but whose names never get shared. I wanted to take a moment to recognize some of the folks who helped make TIS NYC 2024 such an incredible success. COP isn’t just about the host nation—it’s about the global movement and the people pushing it forward. ?? The Evolution of Carbon Markets There’s rising optimism around carbon markets as innovative financial products, like loans against digital climate assets, gain traction. Stablecoins are increasingly being used to unlock liquidity for climate finance, marking a new era for climate funding. ?? The Surge of the Blue Economy With nearly 30% of events focused on oceans and water, the Blue Economy is becoming a major focal point. Despite this growth, startups in this sector remain vulnerable, calling for increased investment. Initiatives like the Ocean Climate Fund could play a pivotal role in driving this forward. ?? A Call for Peace in Sustainability Wars and conflicts are stalling progress on our 2030 goals, but the sustainability movement must rally to send a strong message of peace to the global community. Now, more than ever, we need collaboration, unity, and resilience. Let’s keep our focus on the bigger picture and come together for this crucial cause!
