It was a pleasure to join our distinguished advisor Dr. Dobrin Toporov, as he presented GIDARA Energy‘s HTW (High-Temperature Winkler) Gasification technology at the Global Syngas Technologies Council conference this week. ?Last week at the 2024 GSTC Conference hosted by Global Syngas Technologies Council, I had the opportunity to present for the first time, "Turning Energy Blue with 0 CO2 Emissions" In addition to sharing #BASF focus on #sustainability, I also shared how #OASEtechnologies, used in #syngas and #gastreatment could be used innovatively to enable CO2 removal in #hydrogen energy production with #CarbonCapture . This approach not only addresses climate challenges but also paves the way for a sustainable energy future. Exploring solutions for carbon capture and utilization, we can harness CO2 to create clean energy while reducing carbon footprint.? OASE Gas Treating Excellence by BASF

Had an excellent time at the 42nd Global Syngas Technologies Conference with S&B colleagues Blane Vincent and Muhammad Islam! Forty-two years of sustainability, energy transition and syngas—this organization was championing these concepts long before they became buzzwords! For over four decades, this conference has been a melting pot of syngas knowledge, fostering excellent interactions and disseminating valuable technical information. Congratulations to Global Syngas Technologies Council (GSTC) for another compelling conference agenda, especially to William E. Preston (GSTC Executive Director), Bea Ann Philips (Membership and Planning Director), and Marc Bacon (outgoing GSTC Chair). A big shout out to Lucy Wilson, the first elected woman chair of GSTC, and the newly elected board. I am confident we will have another fabulous year ahead. As my badge in the picture says, “Ask me about GSTC.” Having attended/presented at the conferences for almost a decade and being a member for the past few years, I would be happy to speak to anyone about GSTC to further bring our community together! For those unfamiliar with syngas, it stands for synthesis gas—a mixture of carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide, with smaller amounts of methane and other gases. This versatile gas can be generated from various feedstocks, including waste, and can be converted into fuel and chemicals (including hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol), making it a key enabler for the energy transition. Syngas can play a crucial role in reducing our reliance on traditional fossil fuels and supporting the development of sustainable energy solutions. As the world faces increasing impacts of climate change, it’s time for introspection: are we doing enough for sustainability? The pace of many energy transition projects is slower than desirable. We see many projects struggling for investment and offtake agreements. Personally, it is painful to witness the failure of such efforts when the world needs them urgently. This is in stark contrast to the huge investments in the Artificial Intelligence space. The cost of these projects also pales in comparison to the impact of recent climate disasters. By some estimates, the damage from Hurricane Helen alone was about $200 billion. Syngas Community: Let’s come together for more collaboration and bold actions to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. Human ingenuity has accomplished many difficult goals, and working together, I am sure we can perfect the sustainable technologies our planet urgently needs! #gstc2024 #consideritdone #sustainaibility #syngas #hydrogen
