On February 26, 2025, at 0700 hours, GSS Houston attended at Manchester Terminal, Houston, Texas for the loading of a Reeler to M/V “BBS MINNESOTA”. The unit was stored on a Mafi type trailer in the open yard. U.S. Customs and Border Protection had the port operations shut down for several hours. Commencing at 1120 hours, the unit was safely loaded to the vessel and stowed in Cargo Hold No. 1, lower hold, against the starboard bulkhead (blocked with wood and flat dunnage on the tank top). The unit was then suitably secured with eight (8) 13 mm long link chains (SWL 10 t. each), made taut with binders, as directed by the Chief Officer. Dimensions were measured at: 209” L x 192” W x 185” H / wt: 44,000kgs #projectcargo

As of February 4, 2025, the United States has implemented new tariffs affecting imports from China. An additional 10% tariff has been imposed on all imports from China. Goods currently en route to the U.S. will be exempt from this additional tariff until March 7, 2025, provided they departed from China by February 1, 2025. Initially, a 25% additional tariff was announced on imports from both Canada and Mexico. However, these tariffs have been postponed for 30 days following negotiations and commitments from Canada and Mexico to enhance border security and combat drug trafficking.
