Global Minnesota is excited to share that former World Affairs Events & Marketing intern Marouane El Bahraoui has been accepted into the M.A. program in Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Global Affairs. As an international student from Morocco, Marouane brought his international experience, education, and skills to the internship, helping to plan and market Global Minnesota events last spring. Upon completion of his graduate studies, he plans to return to Morocco and hopes to work in the foreign service. Global Minnesota will soon be accepting intern applications for the Summer 2025 semester. Stay tuned for more details.

Ever wanted to learn Latin dance? Originating in the Dominican Republic, bachata is a style of social dance that has spread around the world. In addition to traditional bachata, styles such as bachata fusion and “bachatango” have emerged and reflect the ever-changing dynamics of global dance and music. Join Global Minnesota for a fun evening of bachata dance for all skill levels!?Connect with others and explore this classic style and its evolution to today. After a short presentation, enjoy a bachata basics dance lesson provided by Duende Dance Studio. No partner needed! Attend alone or with a friend/partner, as we will rotate partners throughout the evening. Attire: Clean and dry shoes are required – flat soled shoes, low heels, or clean sneakers are all fine.

Global Minnesota is excited to welcome back Sam Barragan for another semester as our International Professional Exchanges Intern! She is pursuing a Master's in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development at the University of Minnesota and aspires to work for the Foreign Service one day. Working with the Professional Exchanges team, Sam is utilizing her cultural exchange background to research new resources for our delegation visitors to meet.
