Ensuring a vibrant Jewish future by strengthening the bonds that unite all Jews.
关于我们
Global Jewry's mission is simple yet profound: to strengthen the bonds that unite the Jewish people. Our sole agenda is to create a global platform where Jews of all ages, all backgrounds and all perspectives can join together in a welcoming and respectful environment to celebrate our shared values, explore our shared history and chart our shared future. Our vision is a future in which: - All Jews and their families feel welcome, heard and valued as members of the Jewish people. - The sense of connection every Jew feels to the Jewish people transcends all geographical, ideological, political and other barriers to Jewish unity. - The bonds that unite all Jews are stronger than ever and the Jewish people feel enriched by our historical, religious and cultural differences. - All Jews have unrestricted access to the resources, events, mentors, and networks they need to help them strengthen their Jewish identities and pursue their Jewish journeys. - A safe and secure Israel is a source of pride and inspiration. - The Jewish community embraces its responsibility to engage in tikkun olam by safeguarding the environment and making the world a better place for all its inhabitants. We understand the power of community and the need for meaningful connections, especially in today’s fast-paced digital world. Together, let’s build a vibrant global community of Jews, where relationships are made, experiences are shared, and Jewish identity is celebrated. Learn more at https://globaljewry.org/about-us/.

While basketball fans are fixated on brackets and buzzer-beaters, another kind of March Madness is unfolding - one with far greater consequences. In Israel, the war with Gaza has resumed, political tensions are at a fever pitch, and what was meant to be a unifying moment, a global gathering in Jerusalem next week to address rising antisemitism, has instead become yet another source of division.. Deep in the Azerbaijani foothills of the southern Caucasus Mountains lies one of Europe’s most fascinating communities: the Mountain Jews of Red Village. Known locally as “Krasnaya Sloboda” in Russian and “Qirmizi Qasaba” in Azeri, this unique community has thrived for nearly 300 years, maintaining its distinct culture and traditions despite changing political landscapes. The only all-Jewish village outside Israel and the United States, Red Village is a paradox of isolation and multiculturalism. Its residents, fluent in languages like Persian, Russian, Turkish, and Hebrew, have ties that span the globe—from Moscow and Brooklyn to Tel Aviv and Baku. Though small, the community’s sense of identity remains remarkably resilient, with traditions passed down through generations. One of the community’s most celebrated figures is Albert Agarunov, a Mountain Jew who became a national hero of Azerbaijan for his bravery during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. His legacy lives on through a monumental statue in Baku, symbolizing the enduring spirit of Red Village’s people. Global Jewry is dedicated to empowering Jewish communities worldwide, building connections, and preserving a vibrant Jewish future. Find out more here https://globaljewry.org! This week, we highlight the work of Melanie Sturm, a proud member of the Global Jewry Advisory Board! A sought-after persuasion coach, dynamic speaker, and powerful writer, Melanie Sturm teaches how to inspire an audience – even skeptics – to follow your lead, not based on what you say, but on what your audience hears you say. After a successful career in finance, and having learned through her column – Think Again…you might change your mind – how to persuade people who think they disagree, Melanie launched Engage to Win to help aspiring influencers — including Israel advocates — unlock the power of their ideas. The persuasion skills she mastered as a columnist are now her Six Powers of Persuasion and the template for helping people project their winning ideas with grace and credibility. Melanie’s prior work experience includes project finance at International Finance Corporation (private sector affiliate of the World Bank) and mergers and acquisitions at Morgan Stanley (London) and Drexel Burnham Lambert (New York). Melanie has an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and undergraduate degrees in international relations and economics from Tufts University. Melanie welcomes subscribers to her Substack newsletter called Persuasion Pearls (https://lnkd.in/eEkmxQFN) in which she shares lessons on how to Think Again…you might change your mind.
