EM Countries are Key to the Net Zero Transition: Emerging markets hold enormous potential for scaling cleaner solutions. Further, they may leapfrog ahead in energy technology as they extend access to energy throughout their populations. Under President Ramaphosa’s leadership, electricity is now available to 93% of South Africa’s population. Financing Must Increase: According to experts at the event, global clean energy investment needs to jump from $2 trillion to $7 trillion annually to meet 2050 net-zero goals.
