We had a fantastic time at Mastercard’s NYC headquarters where Bunita Sawhney, EVP, consumer products & processing, hosted us for a fireside chat on female entrepreneurship and then a meet and greet with members of Mastercard’s Women’s Leadership Network to discuss the importance of female mentorship. Mentorship is always top of mind for GlobalWIN leaders because we see every day how those relationships help to stretch thinking, provide support through challenges and growth, and create a sense of community in professional settings. #GlobalWINinNYC

GlobalWIN leaders took to New York City last week for our 2024 Senate staff delegation trip! These trips are a fantastic opportunity for our delegation to spend dedicated time together, hear from experts in their fields, and network with new friends. With decades of merchandising experience at high-profile brands like Ralph Lauren and the Gap, Mary Ellen shared her experience leading J. McLaughlin’s brand strategy and development, operations, retail and e-commerce growth. Introduced by our dynamic board chair, Nicole Mortier, Mary Ellen shared a powerful insight that stuck with all of us: being intentional about lifting up the women around you has been key to her career. Congrats are in order for Keenan Austin Reed, a member of GlobalWIN's board and the chair of our advisory council, for her recent promotion to CEO of the Alpine Group Partners, a bipartisan government affairs firm serving top voices in Washington like Amgen, Siemens, and Starz! Keenan's leadership at GlobalWIN has had a tremendous positive impact on the organization and the many women who benefit from her friendship and mentorship.

We had an incredible Meet the Member dinner last week with U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur (OH-09). Congresswoman Kaptur – the longest serving woman in Congress – grew up during the era of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights movement, which shaped her perspectives early on. She spoke about the importance of knowing your calling and being open to exploring new ideas and pursuits at a young age. She emphasized that forging personal relationships is critical; they can have a massive impact on who you are and push you to grow outside your comfort zone. Thank you to Rep.
