Earlier this year, someone asked me about China's involvement in Latin America. I shared with that person that China has been playing a pivotal political and economic roles throughout the Latin American and African regions for the last two decades. As today's Wall Street Journal article points out, the dollar value of Chinese projects throughout Latin America is reaching that of Africa. At the same time, some of the same challenges that have surfaced throughout Africa are highlighted in this piece with regard to Latin American countries. I look forward to additional insight during my upcoming trip to a key port city in Mexico. Four more days until election day! On Tuesday, October 29th (exactly one week before election day), I broke down where the top two US presidential candidates stand and their track records on US-Africa trade policy. Plus, I explored what their policies could mean for the future of US-Africa trade relations. My message was also about understanding the why.
