Announcing a new fellowship opportunity at Global Press! The Global Press Shifting Democracies fellows will examine changing governance structures in countries around the world, and how those shifts are interconnected. During this two-year, full-time fellowship, you will: ? Leverage your access to stories and sources as a local reporter living in the community you report on. ? Collaborate with a global team of reporters and editors to draw connections across borders. ? Participate in advanced skills training and development. Applications are open now through Nov. 8. Ruben Rolando, Julio del Hoyo and Baby Pau, three emerging artists, reveal the cost of making their music. ?? To produce a recording, they can easily spend up to $800 — 84 hours of work earning minimum wage in Puerto Rico. That doesn’t include wardrobe, makeup expenses, or the time they spend writing and editing their songs. They, like many others who dream to succeed in the industry, keep pushing out of a desire to tell their stories in a society where music helps preserve identity.
