CLASS extends a helping hand to all who seek it. CLASS was founded over 70 years ago by stakeholders who were limited in accessing their community, not by their disabilities, but by a community with a lack of accessible options. "We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say, 'It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.' Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes." - Mr. Fred Rogers CLASS enthusiastically continues to adhere to our mission to support people with disabilities as they explore options, participate in the community, and strive toward community. We are Working Toward A Community Where Each Belongs. We will continue to provide information, support options, and referrals to all in need of assistance in Southwestern Pennsylvania. CLASS strives to be the provider of choice for people with disabilities and their families; the employer of choice for new and existing staff; the investment of choice for individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Did you know personal hygiene items are not covered under SNAP and other government assistance programs? Global Links’ Personal Care Kit Project provides dignity, health and hygiene to local neighbors/households/families. Made up of some of the most commonly requested products by our Community Partner organizations for their clients, these Personal Care Kits contain toothpaste, toothbrush, dental floss, soap, shampoo, deodorant and lotion – all full-size containers to cover at least 1 month’s use. #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors #nonprofit #Pittsburgh
The Literacy Pittsburgh service coordinators have a partnership with GlobalLinks to stock our free cabinet with personal hygiene items. Our most recent pickup included soap, toothpaste, tooth brushes, shampoo, feminine hygiene items, and incontinence items for clients in need. We are grateful for this partnership!
