Mobilizing the next generation of #HealthEquity leaders ??
关于我们
Global Health Corps (GHC) is a leadership accelerator focused on building the next generation of global health leaders and mobilizing the movement for health equity worldwide. We are a diverse, global community united in the belief that health is a human right. We competitively recruit, select, and develop innovative, and talented emerging leaders with a diversity of skill sets and backgrounds, and place them in year-long paid fellowships in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the United States, and Zambia. Our fellows advance health equity across 60 + organizations -- including community-based and international non-profits as well as government ministries -- across a range of health issue areas. Throughout their fellowship year and into their careers, we provide continuous l professional training, community building, leadership development, and career mentorship to amplify the impact of our ever-growing network of young leaders. Since 2009, GHC has supported almost 1000 to transform health systems and raise their voices for social change. Our community gets stronger every year. Wondering what's next for orgs - like us - that have been fortunate to receive big bet, unrestricted gifts from #MackenzieScott and others? As the just launched #FundWhatWorks report highlights, "True systems change takes time and requires sustained investment" and these gifts were "a downpayment towards a long-term solution." The call to action? "To fully realize their bold impact goals, these organizations still need to raise 75-90% of their overall funding needs. This funding gap presents an opportunity for philanthropists to have an outsized impact with their follow-on funding." Thanks, Gabrielle Fitzgerald and Panorama Global, for all your work on this.
Over the past three years, Panorama's Collaborative Learning for Impact Philanthropy initiative has analyzed the impacts of large, unrestricted gifts on nonprofit organizations. Within a year of receiving the gift, these high-impact organizations working on systems change are at peak strength and ready to act boldly to achieve their missions. It’s inspiring to see how these high-impact organizations, once given the resources, are ready to tackle complex challenges and make a lasting difference. But meaningful change doesn’t happen overnight—it takes sustained investment. Continued donor support for these highly vetted, proven organizations can amplify the effects of those initial gifts and pave the way for even greater impact. Today I’m sharing two things: Our summary of what we learned, “Funding What Works: High-Impact Organizations Trusted by Leading Philanthropists”, plus a list of more than 50 of those high-impact organizations. I hope these new resources will be useful for donors eager to make a meaningful, outsized impact with their follow-on funding. Almost a week out from the U.S. Presidential election being called and we're still *processing*. We're digesting the news with our team, with a focus on taking care of ourselves and understanding how best to prepare for the road ahead. Who leads and how they lead matters. No doubt all who care about justice and equity will face sobering challenges in the days to come. One thing we know: We're as committed as ever to nurturing a diverse network of bold, visionary leaders who both speak truth to power and work across lines of difference to protect health as a human right for all. We will keep centering those most impacted by inequities in our corners of the world. We also know that progress is rarely linear, and setbacks do not have to be permanent. The most powerful thing we can do is not just to stand in opposition to injustice—it's to keep imagining and actively creating a brighter future, together.

?? Congrats to Global Health Corps on another amazing achievement! Their work is transforming health systems and building the next generation of leaders in #PublicHealth, and we're honored to support them as they continue to grow. ??
It’s been two years since our CEO Heather Anderson stood on stage at the Clinton Global Initiative — announcing a $1.8 million commitment to recruiting and training 100+ emerging #PublicHealth leaders transforming health systems across the U.S. by 2025. We’re thrilled to be on track to meet this commitment! Big thanks to support from partners including Bloomberg Philanthropies, Rippleworks, and MacKenzie Scott who helped us launch our inaugural cohort in June 2023. We’re also grateful that Adtalem Global Education Foundation, Wagner Foundation , The Schooner Foundation, MCJ Amelior Foundation, and Texas Biomedical Research Institute joined us to launch a second cohort of 30 amazing fellows this past June.
