For girls in Vietnam, gender norms often limit their dreams before they even begin. Thuy grew up hearing that women should stay home, not pursue big careers like doctors or teachers. This made her doubt herself and her dreams—until she joined GLOW Club. 🧡 "Now that I’ve been in GLOW Club, I always have positive thoughts. I’m more optimistic, my words and actions are more positive, and with my friends, I’ve built healthy relationships that are long-lasting." In GLOW Club, Thuy found mentors and friends who encouraged her to believe in her potential and to stand by her message: Let girls be girls. Meet Valeria, a 14-year-old GLOW Club member in Peru who discovered her voice and passion for advocacy after emigrating from Venezuela. Struggling to adapt, Valeria found the mentorship and community support she needed through GLOW Club, inspiring her to embrace her background and advocate for herself and others. 🌎 "Having a place where all of us girls can come together has taught me that it doesn’t matter where you're from; what matters is learning from each other." Valeria is now a confident leader, uniting girls from diverse backgrounds and advocating against stereotypes and gender-based violence. As Valeria continues to uplift her community, her story reminds us that every voice matters and that together, we can drive transformative change. In July 2024, Sierra Leone made history by outlawing child marriage, marking a monumental victory for girls across the country. This achievement wouldn't have been possible without the fearless advocacy of GLOW Club members like Monica, who have been speaking out against this harmful practice for years. Through a Girls' Radio Program, Monica and over 200 girls have been using their voices to educate their community about the negative effects of child marriage, reaching over 10,000 listeners. 🎙️ “We’ve been crying to the government, crying out to them that we need a law on early marriage. These were such incredible events!!
