Today, on the third anniversary of Russia’s war on #Ukraine, we are resharing this powerful video from our Ukraine Program Specialist, Oksana, who returned home in September last year for the first time since the war began. She shares her reflections on what life in Ukraine looks like today. At Global Fund for Children, we continue to stand with Ukraine. Through our Emergency Response Fund, we are supporting grassroots organizations providing food, shelter, psychosocial support, and education to children and families affected by the war. As the war continues, so does our commitment to helping communities rebuild and heal. ??? Watch the video below.

Last week, our Co-CEO, Hayley Roffey, joined a panel at The Conduit, where funders and young leaders came together to discuss the challenges, barriers, and opportunities in resourcing youth-led organizations. The conversation explored how funders can move beyond traditional models, build meaningful partnerships, and ensure young leaders have the resources they need to drive real change. With youth-led initiatives at the forefront of tackling urgent global issues, these discussions are essential in shifting power and fostering more inclusive, trust-based funding approaches.

Intermediary funders like GFC are reshaping philanthropy by supporting local communities and championing trust-based, flexible funding. While progress has been made, there’s still much work to do to ensure more funding reaches grassroots organizations. After much reflection, we’ve decided to leave X.
