Launching the report “Voluntary Carbon Credit Market in Colombia: An Analysis in Light of Transparency and Integrity” We are pleased to announce the release of a report prepared by GFI, Cealdes Centro de Alternativas al Desarrollo, and Corporación Transparencia por Colombia. This report aims to identify potential corruption risks and provide recommendations to improve the conditions of the Voluntary Carbon Market in Colombia and mitigate the consequences of irregular practices. Some conclusions derived from the analysis of regulations, press, community testimonies, legal documents, and the evaluation of nine case studies include: ? Opacity of project information on developers' platforms, certification standards, and Verification Bodies. ? Absence of an ethnic differential approach in the negotiation and implementation of REDD+ Projects. ? Lack of external mechanisms for monitoring and auditing the allocation of resources obtained in REDD+ projects. ?
