'We don't believe you.' - is the message Amazon's new return to office mandate signals to its disabled employees. The new process requires a multi-level executive review. As Dannie Lynn Fountain, DBA, EA, SPHR, CDR, who handles disability accommodations at Google, put it, a lengthy accommodations process could cause an employee to quit, and “is still disability discrimination.” HR Brew ??| Kristen Parisi | #Accommodations #HumanResources #BetterWorkplaces ID: An image of a large glass building with the Amazon logo. Return to office mandates are on the rise in America. But Dubai is leaning into remote work and flexible start times (not for employees with disabilities, though it helps them too) but to ease the traffic congestion during commuting hours. Mother Jones reports it is still legal to pay workers with disabilities sub-minimum wage, as little as .25 cents an hour. More than 1/2 of U.S. states have introduced or enacted legislation to phase out this outdated practice. The study from JAMA Health Forum demonstrates eliminating these programs enables people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to gain competitive employment at a fair wage. That's a win for everyone. #DisabledAndCapable #EndSubMinimumWage #HumanResources ID: The image that comes with the article.
