This ethos is not just a tool for personal growth, but a way to strengthen teams and communities.” For Karina Borglum, Senior Vice President within the firm’s Risk Advisory practice, dignity leads to a sense of belonging across diverse work environments. “We can learn to respect and value each other not in spite of our differences, but because of them. When employers and leaders embrace these principles, it allows for inclusive work environments to thrive.” Both Karina and Tunde are trained Global Dignity Ambassadors, a result of the firm’s longtime partnership with Global Dignity, an organization founded at the World Economic Forum in 2005.?AlixPartners has been closely involved in the development of the Global Dignity Ambassadors Program which equips individuals with the necessary tools to embed dignity and empathy into their workplaces and the communities beyond. Already, 10% of the firm’s employees have been trained and in turn applied their skills to host workshops for local youth centers, scout groups, charity partners, and schools. “Embracing dignity allows team members to feel empowered and valued. Today is Spain's National Day, when we remember moments of collective history that are part of the historical, cultural and social heritage of the country. The Global Dignity Spain team has been particularly dedicated to promoting the training of Dignity Ambassadors. Its Educational Innovation Program with Rey Juan Carlos public university has been successful in bringing professionals from the education sector to look into the potential of Dignity to improve coexistence within the school and create more just, peaceful, and loving societies. Looking ahead to the coming Global Dignity Day (GDD) 2024 celebration, the Spain team has recently trained another 10 new Ambassadors who belong to the Women Leaders in Education Association. Today is Germany’s Day of Unity! A day to remember and celebrate the reunification of East and West Germany. Dignity is the basis on which Germany’s Constitution was founded. Children learn about constitutional dignity in school but to help children understand what dignity looks like in action, our Global Dignity Germany team created a dignity-themed colouring book. The book, “How Does Your Dignity Feel?” has been translated by volunteers into 23 languages. More than 15,000 copies have been donated to children in Germany, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, Ukraine and the United Kingdom, with more on the way! Today, join us in celebrating the Constitution Day of Nepal and the great work that our Global Dignity Nepal team is doing under the leadership of Bhushan, with the motto “Hope and Light for the Community.” After having built the 10th school in Nepal, Bhushan shares this recent special moment: "From the very beginning of our school-building journeys, this brother journeyed with us. He owns a Tuk-Tuk, which he drives to make his living. On the day we handed over a new school, he turned to me and said, 'Sir, I can't find the words to thank you enough for bringing light and hope back to our community.' I simply smiled, at a loss for the right words myself, and asked if he would mind taking a photo with me; he kindly agreed. This moment stands out as the pinnacle: I carry with me the motivation that even in small ways, we’ve helped bring light and hope to a wider community." Today is Mexico’s Independence Day! This year, the Global Dignity Mexico team has been dedicated to launching the 'Flourishing in the Digital Age' program at Universidad Virtual del Estado de Guanajuato. This initiative aims to help 20,000 students develop social and emotional skills rooted in human dignity. The 6-hour online program integrates immersive Virtual Reality (VR) resources across multiple platforms, teaching essential skills like kindness, mindfulness, and emotional regulation. Serving vulnerable populations, this program aligns with the State’s commitment to promoting Dignity. Another significant project is the development of The Joy of Parenting program, designed to help parents cultivate social and emotional skills for their own flourishing and to guide their children with conscious, non-violent, and positive discipline practices, with dignity as the core principle. The program, consisting of 36 mini-lessons delivered via WhatsApp, will be piloted next year with 3,000 parents from vulnerable communities in Mexico with our partners from Fundación Azteca.
