It’s not about qualifications—it’s about the lack of equal opportunity. We must shift the narrative because most companies are not backing away from DEI and ESG—the loudest voices against this are in the minority. It is important to remember that advancing diversity is not just a set of policies—it reflects core values like fairness, opportunity, and social progress. Despite recent and misguided legal challenges by a very small group of people, the commitment to building inclusive spaces is crucial for revenues, innovation, talent acquisition and ultimately our future as leaders on frankly anything. Despite an attempt to shut them down and chill investments with Black and Brown entrepreneurs, the Fearless Fund remains open for business and is thriving. The settlement and dismissal of a year-long lawsuit is a major victory for the Fearless Fund and for investors, philanthropists and founders who have and can continue to support under-resourced entrepreneurs and businesses. This is a clarion call for leaders and investors to continue doing the work. The recent settlement in the Fearless Fund case is a victory for the Fund, charitable organizations, and investors who care about equity. The settlement allows the Fearless Fund to continue operating its current and future programs and avoids legal precedent that could endanger funding focused on addressing racial inequities. NEWS: A statement from our President and CEO Alphonso David, who serves as Co-Counsel of the Fearless Fund and Fearless Foundation, regarding the settlement dismissing the Fearless Fund case. “The resolution of this case is a positive outcome for the Fearless Fund. The parties agree that Fearless will cease operating the Strivers Grant Contest, which was already in its final stage. Importantly, the agreement is very narrow and does not restrict or relate to any other investment or charitable activity of the Fearless Fund or the Foundation going forward. As a result of the agreement, the case should be dismissed pursuant to a stipulated order filed with the court. The impact of resolving this matter is significant in that a decision by two judges on the 11th Circuit will not bind the country. The Fearless Fund can now continue their work toward expanding economic opportunity.”

Beyond his exceptional performances, Jones was a staunch advocate for diversity and representation in Hollywood, opening doors for Black creatives. His support for the arts and educational causes reflected his deep commitment to uplifting our communities, fighting for equal opportunity both on and off the screen. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time. His legacy will continue to inspire for generations to come.?May he rest in power.
