关于我们

Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center (GECRC) offers out-of-school programming that empowers under-resourced K-12 students to meet state and local standards for academic and social-emotional learning; involves students in activities that enrich learning; and connects families to schools and other resources necessary to support student success and well-being. GECRC programs make space where students, their parents, educators, and community members can develop mutually enriching relationships that support and inspire learning and growth.

The names Stephanie, Maria, and Tomas Chávez were heard on the floor of the United States House of Representatives last week. ?????? I’m beyond grateful to be represented by a Latina leader who uplifts the voices in her district. Thank you, Congresswoman Delia Ramirez, for recognizing me during Hispanic Heritage Month and for visiting my classroom this past summer. A heartfelt thank you to my parents for their sacrifices that have made this moment possible, and to @gecrc for giving me the chance to grow alongside the kids who fill my heart with joy. ??

Congrats to Lourdez Ardila of Warrenville and Stephanie Chávez of Glendale Heights, the2024 Outstanding Graduates at College of DuPage! College of DuPage annually selects two outstanding graduates, sponsored by the Foundation. A committee of faculty, staff and administrators makes the final selection based upon a number of criteria, and this year Stephanie and Lourdez were chosen. Here's what they had to say: Stephanie: College of DuPage challenged me in the best ways possible while also supporting me unconditionally. Every course I took and every resource I used was a constant reminder that I made the right decision by attending COD right after high school. I used the personal counseling services offered by the institution and they really helped me stay motivated and clear minded through my studies. Lourdez: Through the honors program and under the mentorship of Professors Ken Grey, Joseph DalSanto, Brian Brown, and Bonnie Loder I have been able to conduct my own individual research in different fields including psychology, astronomy, philosophy/ethics, and language. These research project opportunities, outside of the curriculum of the courses, are something I could not be more grateful for as they introduced me to my love for research and data analysis. To learn more about Stephanie and Lourdez, and the other finalists for 2024 Oustanding Graduates, please visit https://lnkd.in/gf4qaky4 Congrats to you both, to all the finalists, and to all the graduates today!
