#GlobalCitizenNOW is flying south to Rio de Janeiro! ?????? On November 17 – just before world leaders come together for the 2024 G20 Meeting – Global Citizen NOW: Rio de Janeiro will gather leading voices and innovators from government, business, and advocacy for a dynamic program focused on driving decisive action to defeat poverty and defend the planet. This event is supported by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, and features Janja Lula da Silva, First Lady of Brazil; Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission; and more participants who will be gathering to discuss vital issues, such as: ?? Ending tropical rainforest deforestation ?? Accelerating the just energy transition ?? Amplifying demands from Indigenous leaders, land defenders, and civil society to world leaders ?? Strengthening global food security ?? Fast-tracking more and better climate financing Global Citizen NOW: Rio de Janeiro will be hosted alongside the Government of Brazil and the 2024 G20 Presidency. The summit will be presented by Banco do Brasil, with organizing partners UN Global Compact Network Brazil and Re:wild, policy partner Open Society Foundations, supported by Google, Teneo and FGV. We are honored to have partnered with Global Citizen for this year’s Global Citizen Festival, an event that raised an incredible $1 billion towards defeating poverty, defending the planet, and demanding equity for the world's most marginalized communities. In keeping with the Festival's commitment to sustainability, we curated an entirely vegetarian menu for the Ultimate VIP area, featuring Mario & Post Malone’s Mozzarella in Carrozza along with several other dishes made with our rich red sauce.
