I am deeply grateful to Tamara Brown and her team for selecting me and GLB Impact Consulting to lead the #researchandevaluation efforts for the Catalysts Together program. It has been such an honor to learn alongside Tamara and the incredible program team over the past year. Together, we designed a learning agenda and developed all of the data collection tools, generating meaningful insights to assess the program’s impact. Working with Tamara and Cimone Sylver, PhD, MPA to implement the agenda has allowed us to dig deep into the data and understand the transformative power of this work on #nonprofit leaders. As we head into Year 2, I’m excited to continue leaning into continuous improvement and progress monitoring—supporting Tamara's team in setting clear metrics and goals and monitoring progress towards them. We’re focused on using these insights to make both short-term programmatic decisions and to ensure long-term sustainability for nonprofit leaders making an impact in their communities. I still remember when Tamara first shared her vision for Catalysts Together back in 2022, and it’s been an honor to be part of this learning journey since then. I can’t wait to see what Year 2 brings! #CatalystsTogether #ResearchAndEvaluation #ContinuousImprovement #CapacityBuilding #NonprofitLeadership #CommunityImpact
#gratitudeattitude We celebrated Longwood Foundation’s inaugural Catalysts Together class as they completed their first year and transitioned to “Legacy Status” where almost all the Executive Directors will continue meeting monthly in peer groups. It was a great time shared with family, friends, local leaders of foundations and nonprofit-serving organizations. Thank you to Sarah Lester, Jennifer Thompkins and Ivan Thomas who gave the room chills by sharing their leader journeys and how this program continues to strengthen their development. A special thank you to Joel M Brown II MSM, RRT, FAARC, FNAP for serving as keynote speaker. I cannot acknowledge the team enough! Two years ago I had a concept and a vision for what the foundations first work in “Nonprofit Capacity Building” could look like. I assembled the most amazing and devoted team of consultants to execute on that vision and they give 1000% every time. THANK YOU! I believe philanthropy CAN do meaningful capacity building WITH leaders and organizations. Since the inception of Catalysts Together, we’ve centered on elements such as co-design/collaboration, leader/org. autonomy, providing resources (coaching, grants) and prioritizing wellness/restoration. Most importantly, we’ve committed to a multi-input research and learning agenda to help us understand how this approach actually helps leaders improve. I can’t wait to share more! Congrats Catalysts Together Class 1 and Welcome to Class 2! Photographer: Emir Lake
