Meet 4 year old B+ Hero, Izzie. This is her story with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, The B+ Foundation, and how the glassybaby family has impacted her fight against Childhood Cancer.? ? "After bloodwork from her pediatrician, Izzie was rushed to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. At 4 years old, she was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Izzie responded to treatment well but developed infections on both her knee and back that led to re-hospitalization and quarantining. In January 2024, Izzie was matched with Delta Zeta at TCNJ by The B+ Foundation. Izzie suddenly had sorority sisters checking in, showering her with gifts, planning parties and her family had "Izzie-sitting" support. Their presence is a gift that our family didn't realize we needed and we are forever grateful for their help and love for Izzie. We are so thankful for The B+ Foundation, glassybaby, and the community they have created. The events created so we can meet other families like ours is therapy for our hearts. Izzie is currently in her 4th round of Maintenance and continues to receive in-clinic treatment once a month while taking daily chemotherapy at home."? ? September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and it has been an honor to spread awareness in support of The B+ Foundation, children fighting cancer, and their families who support them. In 2024 half of all glassybaby foundation giving will go to The B+ Foundation to support children and their families battling cancer. Every glassybaby is one of a kindness, and these custom, handmade color bars are one of the many reasons why.? ? Our glass artisans heat solid colored glass, twist and fold the colors carefully, and shape the molten glass into mixed bars. These color bars take an extra day to create, and vary in size from 4 inches to 12 inches. The average bar usually provides the color for 10-12 glassybaby.? ? Once the unique color bars are annealed, they are heated to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit in our furnaces, then dropped onto a clear gather of glass. This vibrant color gets sandwiched between another clear layer of glass, creating the mesmerizing dimension that sets glassybaby apart.? ? Can you guess which color bar is part of which glassybaby?
