GLAMOUR Horizon 2020 is approaching the very end of the project and we have achieved also the key objective to demonstrate glycerol-to-liquid fuels in two innovative processes for syngas generation and fuel synthesis at TRL5. Great work done at TU/e SUSTAINABLE ENERGY and PROCESS TECHNOLOGY and special acknowledgement to Rouzbeh Ramezani and the team in Eindhoven University of Technology. Great news from GLAMOUR Horizon 2020 project. Today we had a successful review meeting signing the end of this very interesting project. After the review meeting we visited the TRL5 prototype still running at TU/e SUSTAINABLE ENERGY and PROCESS TECHNOLOGY at Eindhoven University of Technology. The partners of the project could see in real life the plant operated at TRL5 while producing liquid fuels. Thanks to all partners, to Vincenzo Spallina acting as coordinator, and to Rouzbeh Ramezani for the great work done making the demonstration a success. Paper ALERT on Biomass and Bioenergy ?? Electrodialysis is widely used for water desalination. But it can be a valid route to reduce ashes from waste-derived glycerol. The electricity demand is currently very high (at laboratory scale) but the level of purification and glycerol recovery are very high hence worth of exploring as possible solution for waste recovery and valorisation. The results of this study are part of the collaboration between The University of Manchester and Argent Energy in the GLAMOUR Horizon 2020. In GLAMOUR Horizon 2020 the performance and capabilities of the hashtag #catalyst have been assessed at large scale and high temperature during oxidation and reduction cycles. Heat integration and temperature rise during oxidation cycles have been evaluated, and catalyst activation has been completed. The results indicated that the heat produced during oxidation is sufficient for the subsequent reforming and reduction steps, eliminating the need for external heat and demonstrating successful operation and catalyst performance.
