“Always cherish your time at home” The results are in for Gladiator Energy's 2-5/8 unit, but first, meet one of our supervisors, Jake Brebrich. In total, the crew on this job has just short of 100 years experience! Jake, himself, has over 12 years of experience working in various positions such as a snubbing hand, ground hand, pump operator, coil operator and supervisor. Jake has said that the best thing about working for Gladiator are the support and the guys. He said his greatest lesson in the patch is to always cherish his time at home. ?? Now, on to our 2-5/8 unit. We were told we couldn’t do it, but we have had remarkable success! Wellbore cleaning: main driver of efficiency. We saw a 330% increase in returned plug parts! With our 2-5/8 unit, we see higher annular velocity with turbulent flow, resulting in increased plug milling rates, reduced overpull events and increased reach capability. The larger ID of the tubing leads to increased pump rates at higher wellhead pressures. At WHP of 2500 PSI, we see pump rates of 5bbls/min on the motor, and 6bpm on the circ tool. Comparable pump rates with the 2-3/8 until would have been around 4bpm. This gave us a 124ft/min increase in annular velocity. It has a greater pulling and snubbing capability. The maximum allowable friction factor to reach TD was increased when switching from 2-3/8 to 2-5/8. Are you wondering if transportation is an issue? This unit has been working in Ohio and is the same weight as our 2-3/8 string. We just received some permits for a customer off HWY 50.
