Glacier Industrial is a roof restoration company. Restoration often makes more sense when compared to traditional replacement. Here are some advantages for restoration over traditional roof replacement. 1. A roof membrane provides a seamless system, whereas traditional replacement offers seams wherever the membranes are glued or sealed together. When a roof membrane leaks, unless it's punctured, it is generally the seams providing the inlet for water. Silicone systems allow for known ponding water and wont negatively affect the warranty. 2. A restored roof keeps your old roof out of a landfill, making it a more environmentally friendly option. 3. A restored roof is a less disruptive project. You won't have loud equipment, or debris being thrown over the side of your building. Also, when we restore a roof, penetrations are minimal, or in a lot of cases not required. That means we aren't opening your roof to exposure to the elements as you would with traditional replacement. 4. Roof restoration will cool your roof, and in many cases, it is a great energy efficient option. A white coating will reflect light and will give HVAC systems an environment to last much longer. You could even see a reduction on your cooling bills. Results will vary based on your geographic area. 5. Restoring a roof offers a tax advantage over replacement and can often be written off in the same year while traditional roof replacement offers 27.5-39 year of depreciation. Please consult with your accountant, as this is not tax advice. 6. Restored roofs offer fantastic warranties. Warranties are as extensive as 20-year NDL (no dollar limit). Most warranties are based on the condition of the existing roof, and the system installed.

Got to spend some time working with our Glacier crew doing some prep work on this EPDM roof. First steps are to pressure wash and seal any areas where water can get in with a high-grade fibered sealant. Don’t have to worry about those seams and penetrations causing problems anymore.
