We speak to many local schools each year as a part of our Teach Kids to Save program and when we contacted Sheri, Principal of Deer Park School in Columbia falls we learned of a major need for the school: raising funds for a new security system and door locking system. ??? The school had just been awarded a Roundup for Safety Grant from Flathead Electric but still needed more support so we asked what we could do to help. With Glacier Bank and our communities combined efforts, along with some amazing fundraising efforts by the school, they were able to secure the rest of the funds and had the system installed over the summer! ???? The other day Sheri stopped by our Glacier Bank Columbia Falls office to thank our team with a lovely plaque. She shared with us how the new security system has already paid for itself in the peace of mind it had provided for the staff and students, as now everyone who visits the campus must check into the office first. ??? ??Fun Fact About Deer Park School: It is located on the east edge of the beautiful Flathead Valley between Columbia Mountain and the Flathead River. The old building on the campus was built in 1921 making it the oldest standing, in-use school building in the valley.
