Thank you, DaShawn Usher and Julian J. Walker for another incredible GLAAD Honors. We launched this event four years ago because we need more spaces to propel new queer voices in the industry, especially in this divisive moment in time. GLAAD Honors is a celebration of LGBTQ Black & Brown leaders in entertainment, advocacy, journalism and GLAAD Awards nominees.?

Last night was our first ever Latine Honors to celebrate the power of media! A special thank you to Monica Trasandes and her team for making it happen. GLAAD launched our Spanish-Language program over 20 years ago and Monica has been leading this important work for more than 15 years. Monica and her team are critical resources to journalists, scriptwriters and producers, and advocates around the world. What is happening to LGBTQ people, immigrants and too many others is reprehensible. We can conquer these injustices working together to change the narrative.?

March 20th is National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD), an opportunity to raise awareness about the impact of HIV on Native communities and promote the importance of HIV education, testing, prevention, and care. #NNHAAD

This administration is focused on stirring up fights internally and spreading lies so that we’re not focusing on what they’re really doing and what they’re really doing is hoarding money and power for themselves. It turns out that this administration doesn’t discriminate. They are going to wipe out Americans at any cost, except for the one percent. Even though it’s very painful and it has real casualties tied to it, it is all a distraction to a much bigger sinister plan. If they’re gonna burn it all down, we’re gonna be there to build it back better. Most people want their workplace to be respectful of all colleagues and expect basic manners from elected officials. Every American should be well aware that members of Congress who prioritize demeaning stunts like this equals less time and energy doing their jobs like protecting federal workers who keep us safe, making food, housing, and health care more affordable, or stopping unelected billionaires from rummaging through taxpayers' private data. The Trump Administration's new and proposed policies aim to forcefully revoke private companies’ freedom to include and market to the largest growth consumer bases. These proposals are not the law, they do nothing but spin up negative consumer sentiment and stoke the flames of bias. These un-American proposals are already leading to negative impact to the bottom lines of some of America's biggest companies. Capitulating to baseless attacks like Target did does nothing to help companies, consumers, or the U.S. economy. Target may blame cold weather for declining profits, but at the end of the day, they need to look inward. Now is the time for corporate leaders to lead.
