A prominent Non-Profit retained GKV Architects to design their new headquarters. The Non-Profit Organization asked GKV to design a flexible workspace with a variety of work environments including a central open communal lounge and lunch area, open work area, and acoustically rated phone booths, and?private offices. The design expresses the existing bones of the early 20th century structure by exposing the concrete flooring and ceiling structure. The palette consists of a clean white background, black office fronts and pops of color. Overlooking the Manhattan skyline and East River, The Dupont sets a new standard for luxury living in NYC. Scott System's collaboration with GKV Architects resulted in a stunning custom formliner (Beton Brut) crafted from Upstate NY cracked walnut shells using custom CNC milling. This exceptional work earned the building the prestigious Corbetta Award for excellence in concrete construction on high rise buildings in 2024. We are excited to share that the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission has voted to calendar the nine-story atrium at The Beekman Hotel, the first step to designate the atrium as an interior landmark. GKV Architects restored the original interior space to its former glory, including the atrium, skylight, cast-iron balconies, and millwork on the doors and window openings. The Beekman Hotel atrium is a symbol of tradition and refinement. We hope this magnificent space will be preserved and cherished by future generations. Stay tuned! GERNER KRONICK + VALCARCEL, ARCHITECTS, DPC has completed its first Florida residential project and announces the opening of its new office in Southeast Florida! GKV has completed a 2900 square foot luxury apartment with 550 square feet of additional terrace space on the Fort Lauderdale beaches in Florida. GKV was responsible for the entire renovation, including both the architectural and interior design. The clean modern aesthetic expands the space. Every room connects to views of either the Intercoastal Waterway or the Atlantic Ocean, allowing light to penetrate throughout. Our interior design group curated the finishes in the apartment to showcase a collection of classic modern furniture and abstract modern art.
