This post from GivingTuesday board member and happiness guru Gretchen Rubin is beautiful and full of important reminders, especially this elemental truth: One of the best ways to make?yourself?happy is to make?other people?happy; One of the best ways to make?other people?happy is to be happy?yourself. And my new favorite quote, via Simone Weil: “Imaginary evil is romantic and varied; real evil is gloomy, monotonous, barren, boring. Imaginary good is boring; real good is always new, marvelous, intoxicating.” Here's to intoxicating the world with good next Tuesday! https://lnkd.in/gqzww9Vh

GivingTuesday is only 1 week away, so I wanted to share a few things your #nonprofit can do to engage with donors over the next few days + an example email you can send to your supporters ?? Here are 4 key components to include in your #GivingTuesday campaign over the next few days... 1?? Make sure your supporters know how much you appreciate them. 2?? Be very clear about the overarching problem your organization solves. 3?? Tell supporters how their contributions are directly and specifically helping the people you serve. 4?? Have one very clear call to action. ???????? ???? ???? ?????????????? ?????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ?????? ?? ???? ?????????? ????????????????????... As we count down to this incredible global day of generosity, we want to pause and express our sincere gratitude to YOU—our supporters, partners, and champions. Your belief in our mission inspires us every day. ?? At [Your Organization Name], we’re tackling [specific problem, e.g., “the rising need for mental health resources in underserved communities”]. The challenge is big, but thanks to your contributions, we’re seeing real, life-changing impacts. Here’s what YOU make possible: ?? [Share a short, tangible success story, e.g., "Last year, your generosity helped us provide 500 therapy sessions to individuals who otherwise couldn’t afford it."] ?? [Highlight how donor contributions directly fund a specific initiative, e.g., "Every $50 donation funds an hour of professional support for someone in need."] This GivingTuesday, we’re inviting you to be part of the solution once again. Your generosity changes lives. ?? Here’s how you can help: ?? [Insert Call to Action, e.g., “Donate today to help us reach our $10,000 goal by GivingTuesday.”] Together, we can make an even greater impact. Will you join us? ?? #Gratitude #MakeADifference #Fundraising

“Ripples in a pond,” is such a perfect way to illustrate the impact of kindness. With every act, no matter how big or small, we can inspire people to do good right along with us. We’re excited to see the ripple effects of the millions of people around the world who spread?kindness and generosity next week for #GivingTuesday Thank you for sharing your story with us, Melinda French Gates.
The importance of giving back is something I learned from my parents. They taught my siblings and me that we had a responsibility to help make life better for others, in whatever way we could. What I love most about giving back is how it can deepen our connection to each other and to our communities—something I think many of us need right now. And best of all, anyone can be a giver, because everyone has something to offer the world. GivingTuesday is just around the corner, and I can’t wait to share more about my plans. Stay tuned...

What’s the state of generosity in America right now? Between 60 and 70% of people reported having performed at least one act of generosity in the week prior to being asked. These numbers are consistent with most of 2024 thus far.? That’s positive news for the state of generosity in the U.S. Take a look at our new report for details and find key takeaways you can start applying to your #GivingTuesday campaign and other work this giving season. https://lnkd.in/gAt6p3ni

Thanks for having us, Mitch Stein and Chariot! One of our favorite things to do ahead of #GivingTuesday is debunk the myths surrounding the world's biggest day for generosity.??? Simply put, doing a #GivingTuesday campaign won't negatively impact the rest of your giving season. In fact, it could boost your impact! See you on December 3rd?
Here’s what I learned from my GivingTuesday conversation with Kelsey Kramer this week ???? Mainly I learned that I was wrong about a lot of assumptions I had in my head about Giving Tuesday! ????♂? Since the event has been around for over a decade and succeeded in becoming so ubiquitous, it’s easy to think that you already know what Giving Tuesday is all about ? For any nonprofit fundraiser reading this, l’ll bet you a coffee that we covered at least one thing in this webinar you didn’t realize about Giving Tuesday! ?? Did you know that it’s now been the single biggest day of the year for net new donor acquisition for two years running? ?? Did you know more than half of adults in the US don’t recall getting solicited last year? ???? Do you know how many of them would’ve given if they’d been asked?? ?? Well, Kelsey shared the stat and it’s pretty freaking compelling ?? This talk also gave me some very helpful reframes for campaign strategies: ? “We are adding to the noise” ? “We are capitalizing on the volume” The hardest thing to get is awareness - Giving Tuesday gives you FREE attention from the public that’s more likely to hear you on a day they’re expecting it ? “If someone gave to another giving day recently, I’d be bugging them to ask again” ? “People that gave recently demonstrated that they like to give in community to amplify their impact.” Tailor an ask for supporters that gave more recently and differentiate the opportunity. Don’t ignore the supporters that are most engaged! ? “DAF Donors just typically make their own yearend gifts” ? “We should test a segmented outreach to DAF donors on GivingTuesday” You know what they say about Assuming?? ?? Let’s not box in supporters because of their prior giving behavior if we haven’t tried asking other times! ?? Our research shows that DAF donors are actually MORE likely to make an additional donation in the same year as non-DAF donors ?? The full recording of the session + a recap of the top takeaways are now up on our blog (link below) Thank you for showering us with insights Kelsey - I can’t wait to see the power of easier DAF giving in action on December 3rd! #nonprofit #fundraising #philanthropy
