??? In Loving Memory of Amauri Lynn Hughes ??? Today, we honor the life of 17-year-old Amauri Lynn Hughes, a beautiful soul lost too soon to domestic violence on November 12, 2023. Amauri was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her. Our hearts are with her family and all whose lives she touched. ?? In her memory, we’ve established the Amauri Lynn Hughes EIYP Scholarship Award. Starting in 2025, this scholarship will help students who embody her resilience and grace. It’s getting real! I’ve dreamed of this since I was 21 years old at Southern University and A&M College- Baton Rouge! A dream is being realized! ???????? We have been supporting menstruators in Africa for 7 consecutive years. We now finally get the opportunity to physically go! Giving Hope & Help has partnered with @Pipeline Worldwide. If God says the same: 30 days from today we will be off to the Motherland: Uganda, AFRICA, on a missions trip! We will take hundreds of reusable pads (cloth sanitary napkins) with us to 3 high schools there and serve lots of children. We are so excited that our partners Equity.Period. are hosting a Period Action Day Rally at SERV in Overland Park. The cofounders of this organization, Becca and Izzy -- are two high school seniors who, as freshman, started what is now a full-fledged nonprofit supporting menstruators in the Kansas City metro area. They are also an active Chapter with PERIOD., and have been asked to host Period Action Day, an annual, national event, for the state of Kansas. This will be an event to discuss period equity and legislative action surrounding the tampon tax, connect with fellow advocates, celebrate our progress, and support our local community. The PAD rally for the state of Kansas will be at SERV, located at 9051 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66212, on Saturday, October 12th. Guests are welcome to stop by anytime between 12pm and 3pm.
