We had an amazing time raising money for our veterans initiative last Saturday at our #TheComedyShow event! Thanks to all of your donations ($5000) we were able to cover the remainder of the cost for our veteran John's mold remediation project, so his home can be safe to live in again. Exciting News, Folks! Due to some changes in scheduling, our #TheComedyShow just got a new host, and we could not be more excited! Meet Kathryn Gongaware ?? Kathryn Gongaware is a standup comedian, writer, actress, and menace, sometimes in reverse order. She's known for sharp observational insight, an unfortunate amount of self-awareness, and uniquely wild stories that stem from teaching yoga in Cook County Jail. Kathryn splits time between Chicago, jail, and the road, where she's opened for Mo Amer, Michael Palascak, Erica Rhodes, and other national favorites, written pilots, filmed shorts, and lost in numerous games of pool. She is a regular at Laugh Factory, Zanies, and Second City and has performed at clubs throughout the country, including The Comedy Cellar in NYC. You can catch her on social @kathryngong, where her mother suggests she is "undoing the work of generations of women before her". (Alright, Diane.)
