Happy International Women’s Day! Today we celebrate all the remarkable women we work with in Uganda, particularly the 673 women who are members of the four cooperatives we partner with. These cooperatives, all majority women, are making great strides in improving the health and well-being of their families and their communities. Give Us Wings has set a goal to find an institutional partner here in the US to help our Ugandan clinic move to the next level. There are so many great things being accomplished, but so much more need in the area! We'd love to talk to someone in the medical education field (med school, teaching hospital, university program, etc.) to get some ideas and advice on moving forward. Had an amazing Annual Planning meeting last week with our Board of Directors...joined virtually by our Managers in Uganda! It was a great day of sharing, visioning, and strategizing. Using the EOS Worldwide platform has been a big help for us in planning and achieving our goals. Though it comes from the business world, we're finding it can be very useful for nonprofits.

We’re excited to welcome Chantal Pangula to our office for the summer! Chantal is a student at Macalester College and was selected as a fellow in the Chuck Green Fellowship program. This enables her to work full time at Give Us Wings from now through August. Chantal will help us in many ways, but will focus on evaluating and promoting our economic development programs in Uganda. Welcome, Chantal!
