关于我们
Girls Who Listen (GWL) is a Black, woman founded nonprofit dedicated to supporting future female creatives & executives within the music industry. Catered to a diverse community of women, we host a series of events such as panels, mingling mixers, songwriting sessions, and compile an internal networking database for upcoming creators and professionals aiming to learn more about the music industry. We also offer a series of programs like Girls Who Listen University, which serves as a medium for college students to receive hands on experience and connect with some of the industry’s most brilliant minds. Our newest initiative Girls Who Care, is a mental health division that focuses on the well-being of our community.

Thanks for joining us Grace ???
I had such a wonderful time this past month learning alongside some incredible up-and-coming young women in the music industry within the Girls Who Listen Inc. Fall Mentorship Program ?? Being able to discuss in such female-forward settings like this is always invaluable, and I am so grateful to Kadijat Salawudeen and the GWL team for letting me be apart of it! And of course a big thank you to Kathi Ramsey, Michelle Hockett, Rrita Hashani, Jade L., Mariella C. García, Cecille Crisostomo, Karissa Horsford, and so many more for your incredible insights and lectures. I can’t wait to see this group grow and thrive together in this ever-changing industry! If anyone in my network is curious about being a mentee or even a mentor for Girls Who Listen Inc., please feel free to reach out— I would love to share more about my experience this season!

It's day one of my first songwriting camp experience through Girls Who Listen Inc. and The Recording Academy at Drexel University in Philly! ?? There were more than 80 applicants, and I was among the 15 artists chosen to participate. I'm blown away by how talented all the participants are and honored to be among them. I'll add a link to my most recent single in the comments if you'd like to check it out. ??

We couldn’t have done it without YOU Emma! ??
Business Ambassador - Aspiring Music Marketer - Podcaster - Full-time Marketing and Business Management student at Utah State University
This month, I had the honor of participating in the Girls Who Listen Inc. Mentorship Program. Now that the program has come to a close, I want to take the time to reflect on what this has meant to me and thank those who made it amazing. As an aspiring music marketer who is not geographically located in any major music/entertainment hub, breaking into the highly competitive industry is a challenge I have been working tirelessly through. Girls Who Listen Inc. gave me an opportunity to be in the same (zoom) room as people who are working the jobs I hope to work in after graduation. Hearing their insight into what they do day-to-day, the mistakes they made, the success they've achieved, the artists they work with, etc, has all inspired me to my core and solidified that this is the career path I want to continue to pursue. THANK YOU to all the panelists who took valuable time out of their day to speak with us and share their insights into the music industry. I look up to each of you in awe, and I will never forget the advice you gave my fellow mentees and me. THANK YOU to?Jade L.?for moderating our Zoom calls each week and helping my fellow mentees and me get the best out of this program. THANK YOU, especially to?Kadijat Salawudeen,?for seeing potential in me and granting me access to this amazing opportunity. THANK YOU to my fellow mentees for your participation and community! I can't wait to see where we all end up in a few years. I look forward to chatting with all of you as we progress toward our career goals together. I look forward to being a part of more opportunities like this in the future (Grammy University, I'm looking at you!), and maybe one day, I'll return as a panelist/mentor! This has truly fueled me to keep persevering toward my goals and has given me a new wave of courage and hope. If you want to hear more about my experience with Girls Who Listen Inc. and what I'm up to now, please feel free to shoot me a message. I would love to chat.

We all need a Karissa in our lives. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with our mentees this semester! ????
Digital Sales Manager at VP MUSIC GROUP INC | Experienced in DSP Partnerships, Music Distribution, and Commercial Marketing
Breaking into the music industry is challenging, and navigating its complexities is even more so. Gaining experience and seeking knowledge in different ways is essential—and mentorship can be one of the most impactful paths to learning. Thank you Jade L. and Kadijat Salawudeen for inviting me to speak in the Girls Who Listen Inc. Virtual Speaker Series! I enjoyed sharing my insights on streaming, commerce, and radio with the GWL mentees alongside some phenomenal women in the industry: Rachel Brenner, Cecille Crisostomo, and Mariella C. García. Mentorship can sometimes exist in a gray area, yet take many different forms. I’m thankful for those who have shared their wisdom throughout my ongoing career and happy to pay it forward whenever I can. #music #mentorship #girlswholisten
