Here we go again!!! I love to talk when I was little my parents used to call me a chatterbox and when I lost my confidence due to my insecurities when I was in highschool I began to hide my talkative self away and I promised myself that when I am able to gain back the confidence I lost not only will I talk and network, connect with people but I will speak in front of people and share my passion’s, story and knowledge with as many people as I can! Well just over a year ago Dorcas gained back her confidence like never before and she became not just confident but became a speaker, and realized her passions The Tech Girlies?? being part of it, and I’m happy to share that this Saturday I will be speaking on a panel with 3 other amazing women about figuring out how to go about the jobsearch as well as finding scholarships as a student. Advice on how you can grow your personal brand and learn how to monetize it! ??

    查看Karla Mora的档案

Founder of Girls on Campus | 89K+ Followers Across Social Media | Helping Gen Z Make Money Online

How to Provide Monetary Value through Social Media Pages—Even if You’re Not “Big” on Any!???????? If you’re a student who is active on social media, especially Instagram or LinkedIn, here are some tips you can monetize them (even your personal ones) based on what I do: ~Affiliate Links?– Find pages that align with your niche. For example, if you post about scholarships or internships, companies like?Bold.org, Scholarship360, etc., have affiliate programs. You can explore more programs at?www.affiliatly.com. ~?Referrals?– If you share internship opportunities, many pages (like?Evolvez) actively seek college students for ambassador programs. Some companies even pay up to?$200 per successful referral! ~?Create a Newsletter?– This takes time but is?so?worth it! A newsletter lets you engage directly with your audience. Platforms like?beehiiv?offer a boost program where you earn?$0.80–$2 per subscriber?when referring others. You can also monetize through ads, earning?$1–$5 per click?on advertisements in your newsletter. ~UGC (User-Generated Content)?– But?not?in oversaturated niches like beauty or fashion! Instead, reach out to?startups, especially?AI platforms or service-based companies. Offer to create promotional videos for them (without posting on your page) for?$50–$80 per video, ensuring they get full rights to the content. ??????full transparency: ?I decided to include my earnings from just promoting a newsletter in my newsletter! If you like this kind of content! I’ll be sharing more tips biweekly: https://lnkd.in/dXk3B4np #sidehustle #founder

How to Protect Your Work & Credibility in Internships & Jobs Recently, a student reached out to us with a great question:?How do you make sure your work is recognized and that no one else takes credit for it??Whether you're in an internship or your first full-time job, here’s how to ensure you get the recognition you deserve. 1. Keep a Record of Your Work ??Save drafts, emails, and project timelines.?Keep a personal record of what you contributed to key projects. ??Use version control.?If you're working in shared documents (Google Docs, Notion, etc.), make sure your contributions are visible in the edit history. 2. Be Vocal About Your Contributions It’s not about bragging—it’s about making sure your work is seen. ??Update your manager regularly.?Even a quick email like,?“I completed [X task] and made [Y improvements]. Let me know if you need any adjustments!”?keeps your work visible. ??Speak up in meetings.?If you played a key role in a project, make sure you share your insights:?“I worked on [specific part] and found that [insight].” ??Give updates in group settings.?If a project is being discussed, add,?“I’ve been handling [your contribution], and here’s where we are.”?This reinforces your role. 3. If Someone Else Takes Credit, Address It Professionally ??If it happens in a meeting:?Politely add to the conversation—"Yes, I worked on that section and also found [key insight] while doing research!" ??If it’s a pattern:?Have a private conversation. Say something like,?"I noticed that in the meeting, my contributions weren’t mentioned. I’d appreciate it if we could be clear about roles moving forward." ??If needed, loop in your manager.?Keep it professional—"I want to make sure my contributions are accurately represented. How do you recommend handling this?" 4. Ask for Credit in Performance Reviews & Resumes ??Keep track of key achievements?and discuss them in check-ins with your manager. ??Add your contributions to LinkedIn or your resume?to create a paper trail of your work. Hi Girlies! Let’s Talk Internships ??? We’ve been getting?so many questions?about internships, so let’s break down some common concerns! 1. What Happens If You Apply to Two Internships? It’s totally okay to?apply to multiple internships—in fact, you should! But if you receive multiple offers, you’ll need to handle it?professionally. ??If you accept an offer, be 100% sure before signing a contract.?Some companies have strict policies, and backing out after signing could?hurt your reputation?in that industry. ??If you decline after signing,?some recruiters?may block you?or mark you as a?red flag?for future roles. It’s always best to be upfront before signing. ??If you’re waiting on another offer, you can politely ask for more time.?Try saying: "I’m really excited about this opportunity! I was wondering if there's any flexibility on the decision deadline, as I’m currently considering all my options to ensure the best fit." 2. Can I Negotiate My Internship Salary? The short answer:?It depends on the company. ?Small businesses??Probably not much room for negotiation. ?Big companies??Most offer?standardized pay?based on location, but you can?ask for additional support?like?relocation assistance, transportation stipends, or meal allowances. Instead of just requesting a higher salary, say: "I’m really excited about this role! I wanted to ask if there’s any flexibility in compensation or additional support, such as relocation assistance or transportation, to help me succeed in this position." Join other 2.6k girls in our newsletter! https://lnkd.in/gDCRaruq Have you ever negotiated an internship offer or had to juggle multiple offers? Let’s talk in the comments! ????

  • How to Politely Handle an Overwhelming Workload Being proactive and reliable is important, but so is setting?healthy boundaries?when your workload becomes unmanageable. If your boss keeps assigning you more tasks than you can realistically handle, here’s how to?respond professionally and kindly?while showing that you’re still committed to doing your best work. 1. Ask for Guidance on Priorities If you're given multiple tasks at once, it’s okay to ask for clarification on what should come first. ??What to say: "I really appreciate the opportunity to take this on! Right now, I’m working on [X, Y, and Z], and I want to make sure I’m prioritizing the most important tasks. Would you like me to shift my focus to this new project first, or continue with what I’m currently working on?" This keeps the conversation?collaborative?and shows that you’re thinking about how to best manage your workload. 2. Offer a Solution Instead of Just Saying No If your plate is already full, offering a timeline or alternative solution can be helpful. ??What to say: "I’d love to help with this! I want to make sure I give it the time and attention it deserves. Right now, I’m focused on [current tasks], but I can start working on this by [realistic timeline]. Would that work for you?" This keeps your response?positive and proactive?while ensuring you don’t take on more than you can handle. 3. Suggest a Trade-Off If the workload is too much, gently remind your boss that adding a new task may require shifting priorities. ??What to say: "This sounds like a great project, and I’d love to contribute! Since I’m currently handling [X and Y], would you like me to adjust my focus or delegate parts of my current work to make room for this?" This approach shows that you’re?willing to be flexible, but also highlights the need for balance. 4. Ask for Support If Needed If the workload is becoming consistently unmanageable, it’s okay to ask for help. ??What to say: "I really enjoy working on these projects and want to continue delivering my best work. With the current workload, I was wondering if there are any resources or team members who could help so we can meet all these deadlines effectively?" ?This frames the request?positively, showing that you care about quality while also acknowledging the need for support. 5. Show Appreciation While Setting Boundaries If you need to push back, do it with gratitude and confidence. ??What to say: "I really appreciate these opportunities and the trust you have in me! I want to ensure that I can give my best effort to each project. Right now, my workload is quite full with [X, Y, and Z], but I’d love to revisit this if there’s flexibility on the deadline!" Remember!!! You don’t have to say?yes?to everything to be a great employee or intern. Communicating?politely and professionallyabout workload shows?maturity, responsibility, and strong time management skills. Have you ever had to manage an overwhelming workload? How did you handle it?
