This award was to acknowledge the impact of our “Connecting the Dots” report authored by our founder Andrea Pizziconi, with support from thousands of girls around the world who completed our surveys, funding from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for the Wilton Park conference we hosted last June. Over 70% of women surveyed—rising to 80% in Sub-Saharan Africa—have faced sexual pressure, often tied to their education or early careers. Nearly half reported such exploitation in just the past year. The crisis begins in adolescence, as poverty forces families into impossible choices, turning ‘free education’ into anything but. This systemic exploitation not only robs girls of their dignity but also costs the global economy over $25 trillion in lost earnings and untold trauma. Justice requires action, not just awareness.
