Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

关于我们

We’re Girl Scouts . We’re 2.8 million strong—2.8 million girls and adults who believe every girl can change the world. It began over 100 years ago with one woman, Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, who believed in the power of every girl. Today, we continue her vision of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place by helping them discover their inner strength, passions, and talents. And with program activities from coast to coast and across oceans, there’s a chance for every girl to do something amazing. We’re the Girl Scouts. We are thrilled to share Girl Scouts from our council will be featured nationally tomorrow on NBC Nightly News: Kids Edition with Lester Holt! The segment focuses on our new Sim 4 STEM program that teaches girls the technical aspects of auto racing, and how girls can break into this career field to close the gender gap in motorsports. Check local listings for the broadcast on NBC tomorrow morning! Congratulations to Girl Scouts Royal Aramide, Chirayn McClung, Lyra Palmer, and Grace Tomlinson on being featured in this opportunity -- as well as students from the Girls IN STEM Academy! This weekend, we teamed up with the Indianapolis International Airport to create over 3,000 bracelets for Swifties visiting our city for The Eras Tour. ? Each bracelet featured details about our Girl Scouts, including their names, levels, and favorite Taylor Swift songs. All airport guests were invited to celebrate sisterhood and friendship by grabbing a bracelet, swap one out for their own, or craft one alongside our Girl Scouts at the bracelet-making station. In total, we created over 4,545 bracelets on-site! We’re so grateful that the airport thought of us to be part of this enchanting weekend. We made countless connections with fellow Swifties and Girl Scouts from all over the U.S., and we hope we made their time in Indy as sweet as a chorus from "Lover." ??

Election day is a week away! ?? ? ?? Elections offer a unique opportunity to help build a foundation for active citizenship and leadership—two key journeys for Girl Scouts. You have a voice—it’s important that you use it! Promise a Girl Scout you will vote! A recent Girl Scout Research Institute study tells us that nearly 6 in 10 girls say they’re interested in being a future leader through advocacy, public service, or a career as an elected official. There are many ways to take action to support all Girl Scouts and use our voices. So what can you do to make sure your girl is prepared to help make her community, her country, and her world a better place? 1. Write thank you cards to poll workers and deliver them on election day to different poll locations. 2. Encourage the parents in your troop to take their Girl Scout to the polls with them to see the election process in action. 3. Have your Girl Scouts write letters to their elected officials asking them to make a change about something they are passionate about. 4. Have your Girl Scouts write cards to adults in their lives encouraging them to visit the polls on election day to have their voice be heard. 5. Reach out to your local courthouse to see about setting up a tour to see where offices are located and to learn about the different elected officials that serve their community. 6. Earn a civics or democracy badge for your age level. Check out our council’s patch program, I Promised a Girl Scout I Would Vote. 7. Have your Girl Scouts attend a local school board meeting, community meeting, or other gathering to hear about changes being made/discussed on the local level in their community.

On Friday, the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana team had a blast trying out Fowling! We’re incredibly grateful for everything our staff does—none of our work would be possible without their dedication and enthusiasm. And if you look closely, you might spot Flat Stanley, who’s visiting us all the way from Cherry Tree Elementary School! Thank you to each of you for making a difference every day. ??

When we first asked Girl Scouts what they wanted to learn at our new STEM Experience Center at Camp Dellwood, their answer was loud and clear: CARS! ?? They wanted to learn how to change a tire, check oil, and even how to buy a car. So, we made it happen! Thanks to a fantastic partnership with Stefy Bau (owner of Init Esports) and Nicci Daly (owner of Formula Female), co-founders of the Sim4STEM program, we launched one of the first-ever STEM simulator programs at a Girl Scout council — right here in Indy. The Sim4STEM program gives girls hands-on experiences, including: ? Learning about tire pressure and making tire pressure art ? Building and testing steering wheel prototypes on a simulator ? Studying racing lines and optimizing speed on the racetrack ? Collecting data on lap times and calculating best performances From October 7-11, we kicked things into gear! Sim4STEM installed simulators, trained our STEM Team, and hosted programs for all Girl Scout age groups. We even celebrated with a grand opening featuring students from the Girls IN STEM Academy, community partners, and funders! ?? And that’s not all… Stefy Bau and Nicci Daly’s motorsports connections opened the door to new opportunities, including partnerships with racing pros like Pippa Mann and Kelly Moss Racing! Girl Scouts of Central Indiana is now a key player in this industry, and we’re just getting started! ???? Thank you to PNC Foundation and Honda for supporting this program.

On Saturday Oct. 5, 36 Girl Scouts from grades four to eleven gathered at the DHL warehouse in Mooresville to explore careers in the supply chain industry. Girls learned about DHL, supply chain basics, and even practiced problem solving and creating processes for supply chain management and distribution. Bonnie Barczykowski, Girl Scouts' national CEO, joined local Girl Scouts at the DHL warehouse for a pilot of this new patch program. In speaking about the new partnership, Barczykowski said, “Girl Scouts offers girls opportunities to explore subject areas they might not be encouraged to in school and learning all about career pathways in supply chain and logistics enables them to see the possibilities that are out there to become leaders in a field they may have never imagined for themselves.” Special thank you to DHL Supply Logistics for this exciting new patch program to help close the STEM gap and ensure women are represented in the future supply chain workforce.
