Girls2Women-VA is looking for mentors! Mentors are truly the most instrumental aspect of our organization; without mentors, we cannot continue our mission of providing safe and enriching group mentoring environments for girls across Virginia. If you or someone you know are interested in becoming a mentor with us, here’s how: ? Mentor Requirements ? ? Interested in working with young people ? Be at least 21 years old ? Commit to at least one year of service (6-8 hours per month) ? Willing to adhere to G2W-VA policies and procedures ? Attend Level 1 and Level 2 mentor trainings (dates below) ? Pass a background and driving record check* ? Complete a mentor application - LINK HERE: https://lnkd.in/eya8zZnr ? Training Dates ? ? Level 1 | Saturday, September 14, 2024 ? Level 2 | Saturday, October 12, 2024 ? Level 1 (second offering) | Saturday, January 25, 2024 Level 1 training prepares prospective mentors with the skills needed to be a part of circles, while Level 2 focuses on how to lead circles. For further information about the times/locations of trainings and to RSVP (required): https://lnkd.in/eavQzS5h * Background checks are paid for at the expense of the prospective mentor. G2W-VA does not pay for or reimburse for the cost of background checks. If you currently work for a school system and have already had a recent background check completed through them, it is not necessary for you to complete another background check. Once completing the mentor application, you will receive an email from Sterling Volunteers with the link to the background check. Some prospective mentors may receive a follow up email from our Program Director, Teresa Woodroof with additional information. We took some of our mentees pontoon boating on Monday with Beyond Boundaries! It was such a great time on the James! The mentees even got to drive the boat!

Synapse is an organization that "facilitates connections between businesses, and between businesses and nonprofit groups for community and economic development".
